Alison Spinelli – Temple University (Field Hockey)

Major:  Kinesiology

Reasons for choosing Temple:  “Temple had my major, it was close to home so my family can come to my games, and the team had great friendships on and off the field.”

What was the progression that led you to playing field hockey at the collegiate level?  “I chose to play field hockey at the collegiate level when I saw my first college field hockey game at Elizabethtown. I saw how much hard work paid off to play at such a high level of intensity. I wanted to go in and play with the girls because they had so much passion and love for the game.
“I started to realize I wanted to play field hockey in college in my sophomore year, and that’s when I started the recruiting process.”

Coach Marianne Paparone says:  “Alison is a four-year starter for us at PW. This year she really had to step up in a leadership role as we were a very young team. She has improved dramatically over the four years she has been with the program in terms of her stick skills and understanding of the game. She’s also a very, very hard worker. She’s always the first one back from a break and asks questions – she’s always trying to get better. She’s a good kid and a three-sport athlete, and there are not too many of those left. I’m anxious to see her play the next four years and continue to grow at Temple.”
