Connor Ellmore – Penn State – Harrisburg (Ice Hockey)

Major: Business

Final list of colleges: Penn State-Harrisburg, Alvernia, Kutztown

Reasons for choosing Penn State-Harrisburg: “I’ve always been a fan of Penn State, and I like their business program.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in ice hockey at the collegiate level? “I’ve loved ice hockey and played it my whole life. I only decided to play in college this year. The recruiting process started in October 2022.”

Coach Keith Krem says: “Connor will be joining Anthony Pagliei, who graduated last year as a senior. We’re a program that’s only four years old, and Connor’s been a part of that since day one. I actually coached him in a spring league I ran in Lehigh Valley, and I got to see him develop this year in the Quakertown program as well as the Phantoms youth program. Hockey is a huge sport – it’s a growing sport in our district, and Connor has grown so much. He wasn’t always a natural at hockey, but he was a good athlete. He worked hard, he was dedicated to growing every day and working his way into more and more playing time and getting better every day. As hockey’s grown, it’s given guys a huge opportunity to go out there and play at the collegiate level. There used to only be about 80 D1 teams and 150 D3 teams, so it’s small, but that’s grown now. It’s exploded. Connor’s going to join Anthony, and we’re going to be proud of him. I’m certainly proud to have been a part of his journey. The coolest part of being a coach is you get to experience these transitions as kids move on.”
