Courtney Kwiatkowski – East Stroudsburg University (Field Hockey)
Major:
Exercise Science
Final list of colleges:  East Stroudsburg, Bloomsburg
Reasons for choosing East Stroudsburg:  “I chose East Stroudsburg because when I went for my visit I got to meet some of the players, and I felt like those were the type of people I would fit in with and enjoy my four years there.”
Favorite field hockey memory:  “Beating CB East last fall.”
Coach Lauren Whiteside says:  “Courtney has a natural-born ability to be a leader by example and leader by voice.  Her positive attitude is infectious as well is her laugh.  Every game, every season, Courtney was always trying to improve and better herself but more importantly better her teammates.  Courtney’s defense has become the best in the league, and she was able to shut down many of our opponent’s strong and speedy center forwards with ease.  She could read the field and her offender easily and would swoop in and make huge interceptions to begin our offensive attack.  Besides her sticks skills, hard drives and ability to see the field as a whole, Courtney’s work ethic is incredible.  She had one speed at practice and that was game speed.  That made everyone else around her better and has gotten her where she is today.  Courtney will, without a doubt, excel at East Stroudsburg and make a huge impact on their team like she has done for us.”

Megan Mehaffey – Shippensburg University (Field Hockey)
Major:
Undecided but possibly Social Work
Final list of colleges:  Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, Widener
Reasons for choosing Shippensburg:  “I chose Shippensburg because when I went there it was a smaller town, and I felt more at home, and the team just made me really like it.”
Favorite field hockey memory:  “Beating North Penn on their Senior Night.”
Coach Lauren Whiteside says:  “Megan had a really great breakout year for us.  Megan loves to play field hockey and loves to play goalie – she’s one of the only goalies that I know that loves taking shot after shot in practice without tiring.  That speaks volumes to Megan’s passion for the game.  Megan made some incredible saves for us during crucial times.  She’s solid with saves up high and hard shots from the top of the circle.  She was able to stop several one-on-one breakaways with her slide tackles and vision of the circle.  I have no doubt that Megan is going to do great at Shippensburg next season and really show them her passion and excitement for the game.”

Erin Saybolt – Ursinus College (Field Hockey)
Major:
Biology or Political Science
Final list of colleges:  Ursinus, Lock Haven, Shippensburg
Reasons for choosing Ursinus:  “I chose Ursinus because the mix of challenging academics and athletics was exactly what I was looking for.”
Favorite field hockey memory:  “My favorite memory was this year scoring the game-winning goal against CB East on their home turf with their entire football team watching.”
Coach Lauren Whiteside says:  “Erin’s stick skills are one of the best in our league, and her ability to shoot from all angles is impressive.  Erin has a unique ability to keep the ball on her stick, dodge 3-4 defenders take it in the circle and make a hard accurate shot from almost anywhere.  On top of her offensive skills, Erin tackles back on the ball and made what would have been a turnover into our possession.  Erin took a lot of hits this season, which attests to her passion for playing as she was always playing with aggressiveness and heart.  As a leader, Erin was always encouraging and effectively communicating on the field.  Ursinus is gaining a truly phenomenal athlete and teammate in Erin, and I have no doubt that she will shine her freshman year and make a large impact on Ursinus’ program.”
