Thomas Butler – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Golf)

Mechanical Engineering
Final list of colleges:  Rose-Hulman, Rensselaer Polytechnic
Reasons for choosing Rose-Hulman:  “I chose Rose-Hulman because of the unrivaled education I will receive.”
Favorite high school sports memory:  “Finishing third in districts this past year.”
Coach Fred Cicacci says:  “Thomas Butler is an excellent golfer. He’s a very goal-oriented individual, and he’s practiced, practiced, practiced. He’s had professional coaching along the way, but he spends a lot of time at Indian Valley on the practice facility. He wants to become a mechanical engineer, and he’s going to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana, which is a very good school.”

Reasons for choosing DeSales:  “I chose DeSales because it was the best fit for me academically and athletically.”
Favorite high school sports memory:  “Rolling out for an eagle in my first match.”
Coach Fred Cicacci says: “Justin Panner was a starter for us for two years, and he did a very reliable job for us, especially in his senior year. He was looking at some of the Division 3 schools in Pennsylvania, and he is going to DeSales.”

Reasons for choosing Franklin & Marshall:  “I looked at Villanova and St. Joe’s, but Franklin & Marshall was the only school that allowed me to play golf.”
Coach Fred Cicacci says:  “Grace Manchester was with us for a few years, and it was nice that she was one of the two females that stuck with it. She’s a very nice young lady and big school leader in all types of organizations. She’s going to Franklin & Marshall where she will play some women’s golf.”
