Jennifer Bergey – Kutztown University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Industrial-Organization Psychology
Final list of colleges:  Kutztown, Robert Morris, La Salle, Rutgers, Colgate, Temple
Reasons for choosing Kutztown:  “I chose Kutztown because Coach Scattergood and the team made me feel welcomed and not like a recruit. After my third visit, it felt like home to me. The campus is beautiful and not far from home; this way I can visit with family and friends when I am on my breaks.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I thought about playing lacrosse in college when I started my freshman year. I considered Kutztown my the fall of my junior year and I committed that summer.”
Favorite sports memory:  “My favorite memory is from my freshman year when we played Downingtown West. We were told we were going to lose by everyone, but we kept our heads held high. We had some intense and close moments, yet we pulled off an amazing win! It was just so great to be recognized for the first time by my team, coaches and the other team’s coach.”
Coach Kelly Kelly says:  “Jen has been a staple on varsity the past four years. When a goalie that was older than her that got hurt, Jen stepped into the role at a young age and learned a lot and has taken that into the past two years into a leadership role. She does a great job communicating with the defense. You can always hear her on the sidelines helping out the girls to let them know where the most dangerous players are. As a communicator, she’s definitely someone who is ready for college and ready to be in that spot.”

Victoria Bulgier – Marquette University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Communications or Political Science
Final list of colleges:  Marquette, San Diego State, University of Connecticut
Reasons for choosing Marquette:  “When I first started the recruiting process, Marquette was never even on my radar. Surprisingly, it was a university that I was fairly unfamiliar with, but when I flew out to Milwaukee for my first visit I knew it was the perfect school for me. I chose Marquette specifically because it will not only provide me with an exceptional education, but it will offer me a chance to compete against some of the most elite teams in the nation. Also, the pride and commitment that each student-athlete carries upon their back on a day-to-day basis is infectious and really resonated with me. It is a newer program that will challenge every aspect of me as a player. In addition, I’m looking forward to being a part of the growth of lacrosse in the Midwest and impacting the youth of the sport while I am there. Out of all the schools, I visited, none compared to Marquette, and I am not only looking forward to being part of a newer program, but building lasting relationships with my teammates and coaches.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I knew from a very young age that I wanted to play lacrosse for as long as I could. Lacrosse has been part of my family for a long time. I committed to Marquette the fall of my junior year.”
Favorite sports memory:  “My favorite sports memory dates all the way back to elementary school when I played community lacrosse for SAGLA (Souderton Area Girls Lacrosse Association). It was senior night at the old high school, and my sister Janice was a senior on the team. I remember forming a tunnel along with all the other SAGLA athletes and high fiving my biggest lacrosse idol, my sister, as she ran through the tunnel on her big night.”
Coach Kelly Kelly says:  “Tori is a great kid. She has had some struggles with playing in high school. She has done tremendous things on her club teams, but within her high school play, she made varsity her freshman year, got injured her sophomore year and then tore her ACL last year, so she hasn’t really had an opportunity to have a full season here at high school, but even without having a full season, she was a captain last year. She communicates with the girls on the sidelines, and she motivates them more than any girl I’ve ever seen. She’s there for each of the players. She worked really hard in the offseason to get back and have a senior season here.”

Favorite movie:  Napoleon Dynamite
Favorite music:  Alternative

Chessie Rahmer – East Stroudsburg University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Physician’s Assistant
Final list of colleges:  East Stroudsburg, West Chester George Mason
Reasons for choosing East Stroudsburg:  “As soon as I left the campus on my first visit, I knew I wanted to go to ESU. The atmosphere was homey, and I could see myself living there. The coach was another factor that set the school apart from the others. He’s very enthusiastic, and it shows how much he cares about the team, which is exactly what I was looking for.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “Pretty much since I started playing lacrosse I knew I wanted to play in college. I knew it was always going to be a big part of my choice for college. East Stroudsburg was one of my last college visits, and I just fell in love. I didn’t want to go anywhere else.”
Favorite sports memory: “I look forward to the SAGLA Community Night game every year. Getting to run through a tunnel of all the younger SAGLA players is so much fun. I remember being in their position hoping one day that I could play like them. Now, I actually get to be that role model.”

Coach Kelly Kelly says:  “There are so many good things I can say about Chessie. On and off the field, she’s a good student, she’s a good role model for the other girls, and she’s a genuinely sweet person. She was our MVP and top scorer last year. She deserves all the attention she got from college coaches. She’s also our most consistent player. If I can think of one girl I have no worries about going into any game on how they’re going to play, it’s Chessie. She just steps into the role of comforting the other girls every single time we’re on the field.”
