Trinity Monaghan – Lock Haven University (Wrestling)
Major:
Sports Management
Final list of colleges:  Lock, Haven, Sacred Heart, Alvernia, East Stroudsburg
Reasons for choosing Lock Haven: “I chose Lock Haven to train with a D-1 men’s program.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was winning states my junior and senior year.”
What was the progression that led you to wrestling at the collegiate level? “Wrestling has had a really big impact on my life, and I just wanted to keep on wrestling. I wanted to wrestle on an all-girls’ team, so that will be something new.”
Coach Chris Atkinson says: “We got Trinity when she was in eighth grade, and she started wrestling. I approached her because I’m the director for girls’ wrestling in Pennsylvania, so I was trying to recruit more girls at the time, and she seemed really interested. The family was a little skeptical at that point, but she started getting herself engrained in the girls’ wrestling community and never looked back. She’s had a lot of success. She’s ranked number 10 nationally, she won two state titles. Lock Haven is getting a good girl.
“She wrestles year round, she competes, and for boys, Pennsylvania is the top state for wrestling, so naturally, our girls getting beat up by the boys is helping propel them along as well. Our girls in Pennsylvania are tough.”

Luke Ragusa – York College (Wrestling)
Major:
Computer Science
Final list of colleges: York, Ursinus, Wilkes
Reasons for choosing York: “I chose York because the coaching staff was really great, and I really connected with some of the guys on the team immediately.”
Favorite high school sports memory:  “My favorite memory was this past season - we beat North Penn for the first time in 11 years.”
What was the progression that led you to wrestling at the collegiate level? “I’ve been wrestling for 13 years, and I just decided last year I didn’t want it to end after high school.”
Coach Chris Atkinson says: “I’ve known Luke and the Ragusa family since he was in kindergarten. He’s been wrestling since he was four years old, and he’s always had a desire for the sport. Everything wrestling – he just wants to be a part of this sport. He’s had some decent success in the sport, and I think he’s going to flourish at York. He’s very mature, he’s got a good work ethic, he comes from a really good family, and I think he’s going to have a really good time at York.”
