Remington Reeves – Colorado Mesa University (Lacrosse)

Major:  Finance

Final list of colleges:  Colorado Mesa, Tampa, Elizabethtown, Frostburg State, Nazareth College, Limestone College

Reasons for choosing Colorado Mesa:  “I picked Colorado Mesa University because I fell in love with the campus. There is a good chance of me being able to be a starter in their lacrosse program my sophomore year. It also has a great educational program, and the academic opportunities really fit my needs, plus it’s Colorado!”

What was the progression that led you to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I played football for a very long time, and then I picked lacrosse up. When it came to high school, it really came down to cutting out one of those sports. I believed I could excel in lacrosse better than I could in football because of my size. I worked hard, and I fell in love with the sport as soon as I picked up a stick.”

Inspiration to become a college athlete:  “My cousin Ralphie Reeves is my inspiration.”

Favorite memory:  “My favorite memory was when I started my first varsity game as a freshman goalie.”

Coach Mark Princehorn says:  “What made Remi good and what will make him good at the collegiate level as well is his burning desire to never be satisfied. He’s the first guy in the weight room, the last guy to leave. He’s the first guy at practice, the last to leave. He does an incredible job of improving the team as well as improving his own abilities. He’s a guy who always strives to get better every day, no matter what he’s doing, no matter what we’re doing – he always wants to push us to get better as a team, and individually, he’s never satisfied. His work ethic and tenacity to get better is what has risen him to this level.”
