Zoe Gomez – Hofstra University (Lacrosse)

Major: Accounting

Final list of schools:  Hofstra, Lehigh, Drexel

Reasons for choosing Hofstra:  “When I went there, I knew this is where I wanted to go. Just the atmosphere there was so positive, and that’s what I really wanted.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I thought about it my freshman year when my Ultimate travel team coach, Jenny Duckenfield, told me I had the potential to do it. She taught me so much and made me confident enough to even start looking at colleges. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never gotten here.”

Coach David Schlesinger says:  “Zoe is a classic power forward in girls lacrosse. She’s a strong girl with remarkable speed and agility and with accompanying stick skills. She loves the game, she’s worked incredibly hard, and she is a joy to coach. She never stops working.
“Zoe also has leadership skills. This past fall since I live an hour from here, I couldn’t really organize their participation in the fall league, so Zoe took that on. She organized the girls, made sure they knew what the schedule was and really showed tremendous leadership. I’m really proud of her.”
