Evan Gerard Miller – Gwynedd Mercy University (Baseball)

Major:  Information Systems

Final list of colleges:  Gwynedd Mercy, Kutztown.

Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy:  “I chose Gwynedd Mercy because it wound up being a perfect fit for me.  When I did my overnight stay in September, I felt like I was home.  The campus size is perfect, the technology and classroom size are great, I am close to my family, the baseball coach and staff are amazing.  A win-win for me.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “I have been playing baseball since the age of four.  Throughout the years playing for AAU, I truly gained such respect for teammates and my coaches.  I have always wanted to play at a collegiate level, I started the recruiting process my sophomore year, but last summer was a huge summer for me. I was able to attend a ton of college showcase tournaments, travel throughout the United States and coaches became very interested.”

Coach Tim Monaghan says:  “Evan is a catcher/first baseman. He’s a three-year varsity player and a two-year starter. He’s a solid hard worker, and he’s matured into his body over the past couple of years.
“He’s a great kid. He’s got a great personality. He’s someone a lot of the kids gravitate toward. I’m really happy he’s going to continue to play baseball at the next level.”
