On Thursday, Nov. 17, 2023, Upper Dublin senior Nathan Fechter was recognized for committing to continue his lacrosse career at Robert Morris University.

Reasons for choosing Robert Morris: “I chose RMU because the coaching staff is beyond fantastic. On top of that, the school houses notable business and honors programs, along with a lacrosse program that consistently plays - and wins - against strong opponents. The players and coaches made me feel right at home, and I cannot see myself being anywhere else.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “I had never thought about playing at the collegiate level until the
COVID-19 quarantine. I was able to really dig deep, and over the course of a few months, my progression was immense. I joined a strong club program and continued to build my skills from there. I was lucky enough to have high school coaches, club coaches and a goalie coach who were able to bring out the best in me.”
Coach Pat Lacon says: “Nate’s been with the program for four years, and the first time he stepped on the field during tryouts four years ago, we knew there was something special about him, the way he carried himself. Unfortunately, that year was the COVID shutdown, so he missed his whole competitive freshman year, which is always tough, but the kid’s a grinder. He’s a major leader and was voted team captain by his peers. He plays an integral role as a goalie, but not even just goalie – he's a glue guy as well. He’s a very, very talented player, and we’re super pumped and excited for him to go on to the next level. We’re looking forward to his senior campaign for 2023.”
