Elijah Peck – McDaniel College (Baseball)

Major:  Finance & Economics

Final list of colleges:  McDaniel, West Chester, Temple, Penn State

Reasons for choosing McDaniel:  “I went on a visit and I got to stay with the team. They’re just a great group of guys. They also had my major as a dual major.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level?  “When I was little, I dreamed about playing. Later in high school, it became more of a real thing.”

Coach Ed Wall says:  “He’s a top of the lineup guy, a top of the lineup type of person. He’s a team player, he’s gritty, he’s super smart, and he’s been part of our starting outfield for the past two seasons. I couldn’t be more proud of him moving on to the next level. He’s a super hard worker, and you can tell he’s been playing the game for quite a while. The thing that helps him out so much is how smart of a baseball player he is. He knows how to work a count up at the plate. Very rarely is he ever struck out. He’s always putting the ball into play and was probably one of the toughest outs we had in the lineup. He just has a heart of gold. He’s a guy that’s in working out and lifting in the weight room offseason and preseason. He’s always keeping the guys into the game in the dugout even when he’s not on the field. He’s got a great family, and I think that’s one of the reasons he’s such a great kid. We’re going to miss him, and we wish him a ton of luck at McDaniel. I can’t wait to get his younger brother Sam going in our program as well.”
