Lindsey Schreiber – Butler University (Lacrosse)

Major:  Health Sciences

Final list of colleges:  Butler, Gettysburg, Washington & Lee, Hamilton

Reasons for choosing Butler:  “I was actually thinking of going D3, and I was looking at all D3 schools, but then I actually got interest from Butler and my aunt went there, so it sparked my interest. I flew out to visit it, and I fell in love with the school, so I decided to go there.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I play soccer, basketball and lacrosse, and in seventh grade, I decided to go play for a club team for lacrosse because I felt that was the sport I was best at and the one I enjoyed the most. I went and played for STEPS Philadelphia, and from there, I have been getting exposure through tournaments and stuff.”

Coach Dee Cross says:  “Lindsey came in as a freshman and you could just tell right away she was driven, a hard worker and she had goals. A lot of athletes at that young age don’t really know what they want to do, but she knew right away she wanted to play lacrosse in college. That was something she worked hard for, and you could see each year she’s gotten better and better to the point where she’s going to be playing at Butler, which is very exciting. She’s not only gotten better as a player, she’s better as a team leader. She plays lacrosse as much as she can, and she maintains a three-sport athlete status, which is hard to do.”
