Bryn Stek – Bloomsburg University (Volleyball)

Major:  Accounting

Final list of colleges:  Bloomsburg, West Chester

Reasons for choosing Bloomsburg:  “When I visited Bloomsburg, I loved the campus. That visit is also the first time I met the coach, and I really liked his style of coaching. I also know a couple of people that go to Bloomsburg, and they love it there.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in volleyball at the collegiate level?  “I wasn’t really thinking about playing in college, and that shocked a lot of people. I started looking into colleges pretty late, but my sister pushed me to play at Bloomsburg because volleyball has always been a huge part of my life, and I realized that it will help me adjust to college.”

Coach Paul Choi says:  “Bryn was a fantastic person in general, and that makes things a lot easier as a coach. As a player, she was always self-driven. I knew her since middle school, and I knew that we were going to get a lot of talent coming in, but just how much she loved the game, her passion for the game and how quickly she bought into the program and the philosophy and what we were trying to get accomplished at Upper Dublin – you could see that throughout the years all the individual accolades she got were through being a good teammate. Day in and day out, she played hard for her teammates. That’s the best thing about all four years with her is that she was so selfless and made the game very easy. Especially as a setter, she distributed the ball very well, and she trusted in her teammates, which was reciprocated. She’s a very hard worker, she’s always determined, and she would do whatever she needed to make sure the team was successful at the end.”
