Upper Moreland seniors Evyn Stadulis, Chris Kitchen and Joe Smith were recognized at a special news conference for signing letters of intent to play football at the collegiate level.

Coach Dave Heying said:  “All of these guys worked super hard in the weight room in the offseason. They got bigger, faster and stronger, and it was a major factor to their success and ours as a team.”

 

Evyn Stadulis – West Chester University (Football)
Major: 
Criminal Justice
Final list of colleges:  West Chester, Kutztown, Bloomsburg
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “West Chester has a great football program and is a good school academically. I knew I could play soon there and also get a good education while being close to home.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football?  “I always knew I wanted to play in college. My entire family played college football, and they really helped me along the way to get to where I am.”
Coach Dave Heying says:  “Evyn really wanted to lose weight and add muscle mass, and he did that. He worked super hard, and even when he was injured in our first scrimmage and had to miss the season opener, he worked hard to stay fit and in playing shape. He wanted to play college football, and I really am happy for him going to West Chester. He will be in good hands there.”

Chris Kitchen – Delaware Valley College (Football)

Final list of colleges:  Delaware Valley, Lycoming, Kutztown
Reasons for choosing Delaware Valley: “Del Val is close to home and a good school They showed an interest in me playing football there, and I can study what I want to (study) there.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football?  “I started thinking about playing football in college my senior year when coach said schools were interested in me.”
Coach Dave Heying says:  “Chris was a rare find. I remember when his dad emailed me that he would be playing football, and he was a baseball player before. It didn’t take long to realize how much he could help us on the field. In the offseason, he worked extremely hard and is one of the kids who just never stops. He has a constant motor. I am glad he will be staying close to the area and should also have a lot of success in years to come on the field.”

Reasons for choosing Lycoming:  “Lycoming has a good criminal justice program, and they have a good football tradition there.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football?  “I always wanted to play college football as long as I can remember. I realized it became an option for me (my) junior year, and it was an easy decision for me to make.”
Coach Dave Heying says:  “Joe has got so much better over the few years we coached him. He really wanted to improve from his junior year, and his hard work paid off. He has also matured a lot. He is definitely going to have a successful college career.”
