“They were all great leaders on our team, and they were a great help with the transition going into the season with a new coach,” coach Kim Frantz said. “They were all very positive about the whole season from day one to the last day. They were great kids - all of my seniors were really good kids.”

Sydney Bachmayer – West Chester University (Lacrosse)
Major:
International Business with a minor in German
Final list of colleges:  West Chester, La Salle, St. Joseph’s
Reasons for choosing West Chester:  “I visited other schools, and as soon as I got to West Chester, the coaches were really nice, and the team was very nice. They’re also a very good team.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I always played soccer and softball up until seventh grade and then I started playing lacrosse, and I thought it was a lot more fun than playing softball. I started playing club which really made me want to play in college because I liked it a lot.”
Coach Kim Frantz says:  “Sydney was my leader on and off the field. She faced so many challenges this year with lacrosse and with life, and she was able to overcome that. Two weeks ago, she had surgery for compartment syndrome, and she’s been very positive and upbeat about the whole thing.
“Sydney is the kid all the freshmen looked up to. They knew about Sydney Bachmayer coming in. Scoring-wise she was the person we counted on to come through when we needed a big goal and when we needed something to happen. She’s so positive, and she kept the seniors and freshmen together, keeping the positivity through everyone.”

Allison Felicetti – Penn State Abington (Lacrosse)
Major:
Food Sciences
Final list of colleges:  Penn State Abington, Delaware, Loyola
Reasons for choosing Penn State Abington:  “I chose this school because it’s local, and it’s a small campus.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “Sophomore year I knew I wanted to play in college, and my coaches encouraged me.”
Coach Kim Frantz says:  “Allison is my quietest leader. She leads by example and is a great leader in that she works hard every day, she doesn’t complain, and she does a great job just leading by example. She’s not the loudest one, but everyone looks at her as a leader. She’s a great kid overall. She’s a kid you’d love to have a couple of them on your team. She’s playing at Penn State Abington with her sister (Melissa Felicetti), so she’s really looking forward to playing with her sister.”

Favorite movie:  Grease

Melanie Wittick – Marywood University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Undeclared with an interest in Business
Final list of colleges:  Marywood, Kean
Reasons for choosing Marywood:  “As I looked at colleges, Marywood stood out to me because the coach there is amazing – she really helps you in any way possible, and she definitely made the experience easier for me to try and choose. I walked onto the campus, and it’s that gut feeling. You realize this is where you’re going to go for the next four years. It’s like when you pick out a dress – you know it’s your dress when you put it on.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I knew I wanted to play when I realized I didn’t want it to end after high school. I played on the Ultimate club team three or four years, and because I played on the Ultimate team, a lot of colleges saw me and were interested. From there, I realized I still wanted to play.”
Coach Kim Frantz says:  “Mel plays defense, and she’s my loudest leader on the team. She definitely enjoys being that leader that takes charge back there and helps with having such a young team. She really took everybody under her wing and helped them with the little things on defense because we had some people that switched to defense from offense, and she was very helpful in leading them. She was just the communicator on defense, and when she wasn’t in the game for one reason or another, you could see a big difference with the defense not communicating where the ball is and where girls are and shifting. She was really my voice, especially being a defender. She’s a real hard worker. Family is very, very important to her, which is great.”
