Corey Ellison – Rosemont College (Basketball)

Major: Sociology

Final list of colleges:  Rosemont, Delaware Valley

Reasons for choosing Rosemont: “It’s a smaller school, and it feels like a family.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in basketball at the collegiate level?  “I’ve always wanted to play in college. I feel like my senior year is when I realized I’d be able to do it.”

Coach Dan Heiland says: “The biggest thing with Corey was basically putting the work in during the offseason. He’s a kid who wasn’t part of our program until his senior year. He came to offseason stuff. He really wasn’t consistent, and then something clicked for him going into his senior year where he really wanted it. He wanted to be a part of it, he wanted to play basketball at the varsity level, and every day that he came to open gyms and workouts, he was pushing himself. He was becoming better, and he did all the things we continually told him he needed to do to not only improve his game but to help our help team find success and ultimately get to the playoffs. There are little things that he just did. For a kid not being part of it until his senior year, he was a great teammate to the guys on and off the floor. He was a role model in the weight room, pushing himself. He was just constantly doing the right things, which you love to see as a coach.”
