Courtney Webster – Le Moyne College (Basketball)

Major:  Psychology with certification in Special Education/Elementary Education

Final list of colleges:  Le Moyne, Millersville, Muhlenberg, Brown

Reasons for choosing Le Moyne:  “When I looked at all the different schools, each one had positives and negatives, but Le Moyne had the full package for me. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and I love working with kids, and I have a chance to play basketball, which is something I always wanted to do. The coaches were supportive.”

What was the progression that led you to playing basketball at the collegiate level?  “I started playing basketball in second grade. When I looked at all the options, I couldn’t imagine life without it.
“The recruiting process started the spring of last year, and I committed the beginning of this year.”
Coach Liz Potash says: “It’s funny because without having coached her for a full season, I do feel I know her game and know her as a person really well after having worked with her the last several months. She’s a great weapon to have. She can do a lot around the basket. She’s very strong defensively, and she’s a really smart player. There have been a couple of times where I’ll say something, and I’ll turn around and Courtney is saying the same thing. She really knows the game well.
“She’s got a real nice touch around the basket, and she can shoot from 8-10 feet out. She has a good left and a good right. Defensively, she’s really solid and does a nice job rebounding. She is a good shot blocker and is really smart with how she uses her body.”
