Devyn Cobb – Rutgers University – Camden (Volleyball)
Coach Brian Bassler says:
“Devyn was somebody that when she came to us in ninth grade we really looked at her ceiling and potential rather than the skills she had at the time. Devyn was six feet tall and was starting to figure out the game of volleyball and what she was able to do on the court and her own strength. She’s somebody that maybe progressed more than anybody else in my 14 years of coaching. She really took it from a point where she was barely playing in middle school to being on our jayvee team to going and playing in college. That was just really, really awesome to see her development.
“Devyn was a middle for us and led our team in blocks this past year. She’s a real great kid in the classroom, a real bright kid, real creative. She was always really, really good with our younger players. She seemed to gravitate to taking care of the freshmen and sophomores, and she really did a great job with that.”

Nicole Long – Rutgers University – Camden (Volleyball)
Coach Brian Bassler says:
“Nicole had a lot of skill coming in. She was also a basketball player, but by the end of her sophomore year, Nicole realized that her passion was volleyball and how much she loved the game. She was an outside hitter for us, she could play all the way around, she had a really nice jump serve, and she was our best offensive player, definitely her junior year and senior year for sure. She did battle some injuries. She hurt her knee and had a knee surgery her junior year, but she was able to come back from that and played real well her senior year.
“Nicole was the type of kid that everybody liked to be around. Jaime Bonner - who’s playing at Holy Family and is going into her senior year – handed down the number six to Nicole. Nicole reminded Jaime of the way she played, and that was kind of a neat thing to be honored like that. She’d do whatever she needed to do for the coaches or for the team and seemed to always have a smile on her face. She’s just an all-around great kid.”

Stephanie Woolston – Holy Family University (Volleyball)
Coach Brian Bassler says:
“Stephanie is only the second player in Tennent girls’ volleyball history to get a thousand or more digs. She finished with 1,093, second only to CC Weir. CC has been at Holy Family for the past four years, and CC is now done and that’s where Stephanie is going, so both of our players that accomplished a thousand digs are playing collegiately at the same place.
“Stephanie really, really matured over the four years and just had a work ethic that she would never give up on anything and wouldn’t quit. She was the type of player that if she wanted something – she went and got it. She had her eyes set on being a libero. She had stiff competition at Tennent from a few other girls. We graduated 10 seniors last year, so that class was outstanding, and they pushed each other. She just knew what she wanted to do and she focused on it. She played high level at club and just did everything she could in order to help the team.
“The biggest thing about Stephanie was how she grew on the team and how she matured. In eighth grade when she came into her first couple of open gyms, she would not go on the court. She had the skill level to do it, she was one of the better players coming up from Log College Middle School. She would be almost to the brink of tears telling me not to put her in to the point where when she was a senior she was in tears if I would take her out. It was an unbelievable development mentally for her. It just showed that drive and that character to overcome some of those obstacles when she had all the physical ability and she just needed to get herself there with the confidence mentally.”

Lauren Yancer - Gwynedd Mercy University (Volleyball)
Coach Brian Bassler says:
"Lauren was a defensive specialist for us last year. She was one of the hardest working kids in our program over the past four years. She was one of our best servers and was a huge part of our back row her senior year. She helped with our Panthers camp each year, and all the younger girls always wanted her to be their coach. She was tough and fought for her teammates every step of the way."
