Coach Rick Penecale says: “Greg had that perfect combination of talent, work ethic and leadership. It’s very rare that you get a kid that not only is he a good player, but to watch him work with the younger kids, he was all about the team, he was all about the school doing well. Some of the best moments he had was watching his brother Xavier do well. He was more excited when Xavier did something well.
“He was just the whole package. He had 10 home runs in the season, and he was a great leader. He really kept the team together. He’s probably the best player we had come through here, no doubt.”
