Julianna Boggs – Kutztown University (Competitive Cheer)
Major:
Secondary Education/English
Final list of colleges:  Kutztown, Arcadia, West Chester
Reasons for choosing Kutztown:  “They have a really good education program, I loved the campus and the atmosphere – the cheerleaders are really friendly too. I wanted to cheer there.”
What was the progression that led you to continuing your competitive cheerleading career at the collegiate level?  “I’ve been cheering since I was 10 years old, and I grew to love it. I tried Acro Tumbling, which is a new collegiate sport, but it only showed me that I loved cheerleading more and that I wanted to continue in college. My cheer coach cheered for Kutztown’s cheer team. After attending clinics where I learned skills and met cheerleaders, I knew how badly I wanted to become part of the team. After tryouts on May 5, I found out I made the team.”
Coach Kimberly Conrad says:  “Julianna was a strong leader on our squad last year and that is why she was one of our captains. She was an excellent student involved in other activities outside of the cheer program, such as Chorus and also helped with the local youth cheerleading squad. Julianna always had a positive attitude on the mat and in the classroom. I knew I could count on her to help lead the squad this past season. She has gone on to cheer at her college of choice, Kutztown University, this season and she will truly be missed!
