Nick Falso – Ohio University (Baseball)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Ohio, Monmouth, Marist

Reasons for choosing Ohio University:  “They were the first people to come after me, and they thought I was the right fit for the program. I really liked the way that coach (Rob) Smith runs everything. He’s a really, really great guy, and all the coaches are really awesome people. I loved the campus, and the facilities are amazing. Everything about the school was a perfect fit for me.
What was the progression that led you to playing baseball at the collegiate level?  “After freshman year, I realized that I had the ability to play in college, and that was something I really wanted to do these next four years. I love the game, and I didn’t want to give it up after high school. I worked hard, and it happened.”

Coach Shannon Gunby says:  “Since transferring from Chestnut Hill Academy, Nick has been a leader on the field who never takes a play off. He's constantly talking, which is a rarity in the day and age we are in, in high school baseball. He does an outstanding job of keeping his teammates in the game and encouraging our pitchers.
“Defensively, Nick possesses a plus arm and has very good feet. He's had the fortune of playing shortstop since his sophomore year and has worked hard on and off the field to improve his skills. These skills helped him to make the SOL American/Continental Carpenter Cup team as a sophomore, which helped in his recruiting process. As a program we congratulate him on his success and ability to take his game to the next level.”
