Pacchioli Receives Athletic Directors Award

William Tennent athletic director Lou Pacchioi has been named the Region 1 Athletic Director of the Year.

William Tennent athletic director Lou Pacchioli has been named the Region 1 Athletic Director of the Year. Pacchioli was selected from athletic directors in Districts 1 and 12, which comprise Region 1. He will be recognized by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association at a luncheon in Hershey on Thursday, March 22.

After graduation from East Stroudsburg University, Pacchioli spent several years in the New York Mets baseball organization as a player. He received his Master’s Degree in Health Education in the offseason. Upon his return from the minor leagues, he taught at Burlington Township High School in New Jersey for two years and coached football and baseball. He then went to Bucks County Community College as a professor of Health, Physical Education and Nursing.

In addition to teaching, Pacchioli coached baseball for 30 years, wrestling for 16 years, volleyball for five years and soccer for five years. He served as the school’s athletic director for 28 years and department chairperson for 14 years.

While teaching at Bucks County, Pacchioli officiated high school basketball for 14 years.

In 1999, he went to the Centennial School District as its athletic director while still teaching at Bucks County. He retired from Bucks County in 2004. He has been the athletic director at William Tennent for 13 years.

In the Suburban One League, Pacchioli has been chairperson of football, basketball, baseball, track and field, and tennis. He has been a member of the District One Committee for the past five years. He has been a member of PSADA for 13 years, and for the past four years, he has been a member of PSADA’s Delegate Assembly.
