On Thursday, April 19, 2018, Central Bucks East senior PJ Szymanski wasrecognized for committing to continue his football career at Villanova University. Check back for photos of the event.

Reasons for choosing Villanova: “It’s 45 minutes away from home, the football is unbelievable. The facilities are amazing, I love the team, I love the coaching staff, and the education – I’m going to be a business major – is second to none. It’s the number one business school in the country.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “I think I’ve wanted to my entire life. I’ve just always loved football. It’s always been a passion for me. It’s always been something I get excited for. My dad (Paul Szymanski) was a big inspiration – he played (at Virginia). As I kept going through, I wasn’t sure I was good enough to play, but when I figured out maybe I would be, I devoted all my time to it.”
Coach John Donnelly says: “PJ Szymanski, alongside Caleb Ruch from Quakertown back in the mid 2000s, are by far the best linemen I’ve ever had the pleasure of coaching, and by the way, there wasn’t a whole lot of coaching that needed to go on with those two guys. PJ is a tremendous leader who will be dearly missed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a young man more confident in his ability to lead his team than PJ. He was a two-year captain, which is a rarity. Villanova University is getting a great young man and a true student-athlete.
“The four years with PJ have flown by, and I look forward to following his career at Villanova in the CAA Conference, which is arguably one of the toughest in the entire country. PJ will have every opportunity to compete right away, and I’m sure his intellect, drive and competitive spirit will allow him to be highly successful early on and for an extended period of time at Villanova. PJ Szymanski is a one-in-a-million.”
