Outlook:  This team returns the bulk of its starting lineup and pitching staff from last season. Many of these starters are in their third or fourth year of varsity experience. After losing nine games straight, this group rebounded to win five of their last six, outscoring opponents 63-33 and finishing one win short of a backdoor playoff opportunity.
“Chase Harlan (Sr. Clemson) will anchor the infield at third. We have three tremendous middle infielders in Reece Moody (Sr. JMU) returning from injury last season, Chase Fulford (Jr. Binghamton) and breakout star of last season Nolan Behm (Jr. Pitt). The outfield will be roamed by fourth year starter Jack Mislan (Lafayette). The other two outfield jobs are open currently, and we look forward to seeing guys compete for these important roles. We have some very talented underclassmen, including Jack Thompson (Jr), Anthony Niro (So) and Sean Hill (So) making the best of their early season opportunities.  Behind the plate will be a competition between three underclassmen in Nick Mutchler (Jr), Matthew Sharkey (Jr) and Jason Abert (So). Each have a shot to earn time behind the plate.
“The pitching staff will be led by Sam Bliss (Sr. Dickinson). Other pitchers include Mike Scafidi (Jr), Damian Frayne (Sr. Wooster), Timothey Mahony (Sr.), Jason Abert (So). Some of these players threw significant innings last season, some for the first time on Varsity. Fulford will most likely see time on the mound as well. We will need a few underclassmen arms to step up to the challenge of competing in the SOL.
“District 1 baseball is one of the top in the state and we look forward to a competitive season.”
