CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH GIRLS’ SOCCER PREVIEW

Head coach: Betsy Bullock – 5th year as Varsity Head been with South since it opened in 2004

Assistant Coaches: Amy Moriarty, Robert Miller and Elaine Marucci

Last year’s record:  11-5-3 overall, Suburban One Continental Record:  7-3-2

Notable losses: Forward Aleksa Peev, All League first team, high scorer  and Intelligencer player of the year – playing division I at  St Josephs. She scored her first collegiate goal last week vs Lehigh.  Defender, Mackenzie Ehresman, All League and defensive standout.  Playing Division I at St Joes as well.

Key returners: Brooke Steigerwalt. Midfield, grade 12, Mackenzie Edwards, Midfield, Grade 12 and Chelsea Nicholls, Midfield Grade 12.

Others to watch this year are returning Forward, 11th grader Grace Tecce and returning Defender, Isabella Manzella, 12th grade.

Outlook:  “Our strengths include returning some strong players in the middle with Varsity experience and some potent offensive players coming up from JV.  However, this is a rebuilding year graduating 16 seniors, and we hope to be competitive in an always difficult Suburban One Continental Division.”
