Central Bucks South Softball Preview

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH SOFTBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  Dan Hayes  (2nd year)

Assistant coaches:  Victor Volpe

Last year’s record:  12 -2 league record tied for 1st,    22-4 overall  PIAA AAAA State Champs

Notable losses:  Haileigh Stocks playing at Robert Morris, Lauren Klepchick playing at University of Rhode Island, Morgan Decker playing at Lehigh, Michelle Gessner playing at DeSales, Alli Waddington playing at La Salle, Alyssa Virginio playing at Penn State Abington

Key returners:  SR Hallie Bilker  OF,  SR  Kristyn Marinelli  P/1B,  SR Ally Horvath OF/P,

Others to watch:  Soph Maddie Decker

Strengths/Question Marks:  “We have some speed with Horvath and I think we will be OK offensively.  Don’t know yet if we can play good enough defense, and the lack of varsity experience is a concern.”

Outlook: “The girls can set team goals individually, but as a team, we just want to try to get better and be playing as well as we can at the right time.  New girls in new spots creates a lot of uncertainty, but we expect good things from Hailey Warner and Hope Darreff and may get some help later in the year from some freshmen.”

GAMES TO WATCH:  The obvious – Hatboro Horsham, North Penn, CB East. Non-league- we play Nazareth Academy and Archbishop Ryan, both perennial powers in their respective leagues, which should help us in league play.
