Central Bucks West Girls' Lacrosse Preview

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST GIRLS’ LACROSSE PREVIEW

Coach:  Tara Schmucker 6th year

Assistant coach:  Becky Cartee-Haring

Last year’s record:  14-4 overall, 7-2 SOL, advanced to second round of the District One playoffs.

Notable losses:  Elena Romesburg-playing lax at JMU, Madison Shields-playing field hockey at St Joes, Sarah Gebre-playing lax at West Chester

Key returners:  Jacq Fitzgerald (Sr. midfield), Paige Savard (Sr. defender), Elle Ueland (Sr. attacker), Meghan Tillger (Sr. attacker), Bryn Boylan (Soph. attacker)

Others to watch:  “I think this team is very balanced and competitive and every player will have an impact.  There are great players from all classes that should be watched.  We are younger, but we have great leadership and intensity from the captains (Fitzgerald, Savard, Ueland) and we have a lot of young talent helping to raise the bar.”

Outlook:   “As always, we will take one game at a time.  Every game in our league will be a good contest, but if we keep working hard we should be able to give even the best teams a fight.  With some youth, we expect some ups and downs, but if we can find cohesion early enough, I think we have the ability to create some upsets.”
