Central Bucks West Girls' Soccer Preview

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST GIRLS’ SOCCER PREVIEW

Head coach:  Chris Fehrle

Last year’s record:  6-6-2 SOL, 7-7-2 overall

Key players:
1.) Mary Kate "MK" Vinkler, senior captain, forward/midfielder has started for the last three years, has been an integral part of the team since her freshman year, key to the success of the team this year.
2.) Allison Walsh, junior captain, defender, has started for the last two years, another player who has been an important player since her freshman year, anchors the center of defense.
3.) Camryn Albrecht, senior captain, central midfielder, will be relied on to play box-to-box and be very important in helping to spark the offense.
4.) Jenny Sutorious, senior captain, goalkeeper, will be the vocal and emotional leader of the team, gained a lot of good experience last year and will be counted on heavily to help keep the team organized and keep the ball out of the net.
5.) Samantha Lubin, junior, central midfielder, extremely fit and technical, never stops running, will need to play box-to-box, will be asked to do a lot of the little things that don't always show up in the stats.
6.) Meghan Gallagher, sophomore defender, started as a freshman last year, although she is an underclassman she plays with the poise and maturity of a seasoned upperclassman, will also help anchor the central defense.

Outlook:  “Goal for this year’s team is to qualify for districts - once you get yourself into the postseason, anything can happen.  The team is compromised of a lot of upperclassmen with multiple years of varsity experience, but don't be surprised if a few of the newcomers - both sophomores and freshmen - make an impact for the team pretty quickly.  We have a good amount of depth at most positions. How quickly can we come together will determine how our season goes. The talent is there, it’s putting everything together at the right time.”
