COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW

Last year’s record:  15-7 overall, 12-6 S.O.L. Qualified for District 1 Playoffs for the first time in 8 years.

Notable losses:
Hannah Sullivan, now playing at Salisbury University
McKayla Kelly, now playing at Philadelphia University
Hannah Devlin, Lauren Koestler

Key returners: Bria DeSaro; Senior libero, Paige O’Connell; Senior setter, Celina Varian; Senior outside, Ariana Ranieri; Junior outside

Others to watch:  Ava Paulson; Sophomore setter, Katie Rodman; Sophomore defensive specialist, Lauren Dougherty; Junior middle, Katie Marsh, Junior middle.

Strengths/Question Marks:  “With the loss of two starting middle hitters, we will be relying on our outside hitters to carry the bulk of the offense early on. We will be starting two sophomores, so we are a little young.”

Outlook:  “We look to build on the success of last year and compete for the S.O.L. National Championship.”
