2024 OUTLOOK: “Like every year, the Suburban One League will be highly competitive, and there is no game that will not present challenges. We will have to find ways to beat good pitching in our conference and will have to command the strike zone and stay away from free 90s.
“Following last season’s return to the Pennsylvania 6A Final Four, the 2024 squad brings back many guys who gained valuable experience as young starters last season, and add some exciting newcomers as well. Juniors Brady Dolder, Chase Jones, Mason Coyne, Luke Chartrand, Josh Martinell, and Kevin Brace, bring significant depth behind the plate and in the infield. Sophomores Ben Holdsworth and Chris Bennis return as INF/RHP, and freshman Logan Waynick joins the squad to round out a competitive young group in the infield. Senior Ben Farley will enter his third season as a starter at first base, following a .400 season at the plate last year, and senior Colin McLaughlin will add depth behind him. In the outfield, sophomores Christian Barnes and Kyle Bonner and juniors Ben Grattan, Alex Pyle, and Jeremiah Criger, combine with seniors Henry Wetzel, AJ Briggs, Michael Cliver, and Ryan Brown to fill out a competitive group of outfielders. On the mound, the Knights return junior and third-year starting LHP Trevor Lugara, with senior lefty Nolan Walker, and senior RHPs Henry Wetzel and Nick Palovich. To that group, the Knights add sophomores Holdsworth and Bennis, along with Jake Nunn and juniors Jackson Kelley, Jackson Schurmann, and senior Christian Gronback. The season begins in Vero Beach, FL, on March 15th, and the competitive schedule of non-league games includes Hazleton Area, Holy Ghost, and Spring-Ford (Community Knight @ Hostelley Field). The 2024 season will be played in memory of Class of 1957 alum and NP Baseball Hall of Famer, LHP Dave Livezey.”
