Pennridge Girls' Volleyball Preview

PENNRIDGE GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  Brandon Johnson, 3rd Year

Assistant coaches:  Mike Saalfrank, Sam Cureton, Julie Booth

Last year’s record:  7-12 overall (7-11 SOL)

Notable losses:  Jess Kalams (MB) and Kiernan Lewman (DS)

Key returners:
Tori Fuchs- Senior MB
Katherine DeYesso- Junior Libero
Kara Allelunas- Junior Setter
Emma Tirjan- Junior OH/Opp

Others to watch:
Brenna Thomson-Junior Setter
Isabella Cooper- Sophomore Opposite

Strengths/Question Marks:
Pennridge should be a much improved passing and serving team in 2018 but will need to have improvement at the Outside and Opposite hitter spots in order to be more competitive within the division.

Outlook:  “The Pennridge program is looking to rebound from consecutive rebuilding years.  With a strong core of returning juniors and only two seniors, the team will again be young at several key positions.  With junior Katherine DeYesso leading the way in serve receive, the team is hoping for improved offensive output from outside hitters Alyssa Curry (Soph), Emma Tirjan (Junior), and Amber Johns (Junior).  If setters Kara Allelunas and Brenna Thomson can distribute the ball effectively, the team should be able to increase their win total in 2018.”
