Outlook:  “We return three starting pitchers from 2018, Shayne Ostrowsky (1st team SOLN), Christian Buchler (2nd team SOLN), and Sean Hochhausler, while adding several 11th and 10th grade arms that will bolster a strong rotation and bullpen. Junior LHP Devin Sweeney and Senior RHP Connor Baptiste (returning from injury), among others, will compete for starts and first relief roles. Captains, four-year starting SS Justin Massielo (3rd team SOLN 2018, 1st team SOLN 2017) and three-year starting CF RJ Huth will again lead the team. Second-year starting 3B Sam Ruta (1st team SOLN), will again provide power at the top of the lineup. Senior Justin Fogel and junior Shane Marlin, who both had starts behind the plate and saw significant at bats last year, are expected to provide us with great options at C and DH.  Seniors, 2B Sean Doherty and 1B Sam Spadea who both saw starts and pinch hit roles last year, will get the nod and strengthen our lineup. We also have several sophomore and junior outfielders with speed that will compete for the corner OF positions.
We feel confident in our pitching staff, returning four pitchers that started games last year. Our defense is sure handed and fast and will support our pitching staff. Our lineup has the potential to do damage with several returning starters and significant role players, but must improve in quality and productive at bats from last season. We play in the most competitive league in the PIAA. Losing seven games by eight runs proves that we had opportunities to have a much better record last year but didn't take advantage of opportunities.  Our team is excited to get back on the field together to prove what we can do.  The SOL and District 1 are the strongest in the state and think we have a chance to compete for a title at all three levels.”
