Strengths/Question Marks:  “This is the first time in many years that the Panther Field Hockey team has players committed to top Division 1 programs.  Seniors Becky Gerhart, Temple commit, and Emma McLaughlin, Villanove commit, will lead the team with their dynamic style of play and ability to finish.  Hillary Scott will control the back third of the field and distribute the ball effectively to the attack.  Rylee Lawler will anchor the defense and provide leadership to the less experienced players.  The team includes a few players moving up from JV and a strong, quick thinking freshman in Adria Retter.”

Outlook:  “The varsity team is in great form after working hard during preseason.   The girls are challenging themselves and pushing each other with the goal of getting to postseason.  We are looking for returning First Team All-League Emma McLaughlin to lead the team in scoring and to Becky Gerhart for her energetic style of play in the midfield to set up scoring opportunities.  If the underclassmen can keep up with the pace of the more experienced seniors, the outlook for this season promises to be a bright one.”
