QUAKERTOWN GIRLS’ SOCCER PREVIEW

Head coach:  Mike Koch 8 years

Assistant coaches: Allie Riegel, Jon Gingrich, Brian Devlin

Last year’s record:  14-1-4 overall, 11-0-3 SOL American Conference champions

Notable losses:  Vic Sturgess now playing at McGill College in Montreal, Carley Peacher now playing at Immaculata, Katie Crouthamel, Julia Taylor, Haley Dulis, Lauren Pursel, Sam Ramsden

Key returner:  Haley Pursel Jr. CM, Morgan Small Sr. GK, Melina Jagiello So. Def., Ashley Gluck Jr. Fwd, Grace Kave Sr. Def, Kyra Handel Jr. OM, Becah Fox Sr. Def, Sam Barkholz So. MF, Madison Smith Jr. Def.

Others to watch:  Katie Moyer Sr. Fwd., Haley Hangey So. MF, Brenna Foster So. Def.

Strengths/Question Marks:  A lot of starters lost from a very deep team that had a banner season.  The depth should comfortably fit into starter roles, and there are a lot of players challenging for the depth role.

Outlook:  “The team looks to continue last season's success.  Pursel, a Lafayette commit and All Southeastern Pa. Player is the engine in the middle.  Small is a top goalkeeper and Jagiello is one of the best young defenders around.  Gluck and Handel will provide scoring in this well-balanced attack.”
