Olivia Litvinchuk – Temple University (Rowing)

Major: Business with a minor in Sports Management

Reasons for choosing Temple: “After speaking with other universities, I felt the culture of the team and reputation of the business program fit with my personal goals.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in rowing at the collegiate level?  “It has always been a goal of mine to continue as a student-athlete at the collegiate level. After swimming for 12 years, I explored the opportunities rowing offers me as the strength and technique are transferable. I had the opportunity to explore rowing with other universities (Rutgers and Michigan State). Within one day of visiting with the Temple crew, I knew I had found my home in with their program, team and coaching staff.”

Coach Meg Ganzs says: “Swimming and rowing – both have water involved, but other than that, it’s much different. In the four years that Liv has swam, I know that everything will translate over as far as her commitment, her hard work in the pool and on the pool deck, showing up and putting in all her effort. Through the four years she spent on varsity, she made the championships each of those years, and that can only happen by putting in all the time and effort that she did. She was a leader on the team, always ready to give a smile when she walked on the deck, always had some funny stories to share with me. My daughter swam, and she went on to row in college. She was not a rower either, and she was able to successfully go on and row in college, so I have no doubt seeing that it can translate from one sport over to another that Liv will be very successful on the team. I wish her the very best of luck.”
