UPPER DUBLIN SOFTBALL PREVIEW

Coach: Heather Boyer (27th season)

Assistant coaches: Ed Jones, Rachel Matricardi (UDSB 2015), Leah Matusow (UDSB 2007), Meghan Muth (UDSB 2019) & Sarah Sharp (UDSB 2018)

Last year’s record: 17-8 overall, 12-4 in SOL Liberty Division. Made the state playoffs for the first time in school history and also clinched a 1st round state playoff win over Cardinal O'Hara before losing to the 2023 5A state champion, Northern York.

Notable losses: Anna Levin (2nd base), Kaelin Penna (Shorstop), Emeline Bell & Paige Foley

Key returners: Madden Reilly (11th - catcher), Kaitlyn Zacharia (11th - 1st base), Bella Fiore (11th - 3rd base), Lizzie Tambourino (11th - 2nd base), Kyla Garrison (10th - pitcher), Kaitlyn Small (10th - outfield), Maddie Small (10th - outfield)

Others to watch: Kate Brannigan (9th - shortstop), Sarah O'Brien (9th - utility), Jolie Sheppard (9th - infield), Sophia Vitella (9th - utility), Sage Taylor (10th - utility)

Strengths: Upper Dublin returns 7 starters from last year's team, bringing with them good postseason experience. We are also very fortunate to now have 4 alumni returning to assist with coaching the current players in the program.

Outlook: “Looking forward to remaining competitive within the Suburban I league Liberty Division and returning to the 5A playoffs this year.”
