Outlook:  “Defensively, we have a lot of experience returning to almost every position (especially in Rachel Hyman at third base, and Rachel Matricardi at catcher).  Additionally, although we have a lot of new, young faces, those players have a lot of talent and ability and have looked sharp so far this preseason. Rebecca Matricardi’s consistency and Tara Monaghan’s velocity on the mound will add depth in the pitching department. The team’s success will ultimately depend upon their ability to develop a good chemistry, but with the leadership of seniors Hyman, Weinberg, Cubit and Gurian, that should not be an issue.  All of the teams in the Suburban One American Conference will be well coached, so it will be important for the girls to come out ready to play their best each at every match-up.  The goal is to remain competitive in every game, and stay amongst the top of the conference, with hopes to extend the season into playoffs.”
