Outlook:  “After graduating only one starter from last year's squad, the 2016 Lady Cards softball team has 10 players returning with Varsity experience this year.  That experience, coupled with an abundance of athletic talent and player versatility, makes for some very exciting prospects for this upcoming season.  Look for Danielle Wrigley and Megan Muth to fill the void left by Rachel Matricardi (Class of 2015, 2nd team All-League) at catcher this year, while Becca Matricardi and Tara Monaghan will do the work in the pitching circle.  All-League Shortstop Jackie McMenamin, along with Sarah Dennin, Erin Gallagher and Kaitlin Shorr bring a wealth of experience back to the infield, and All-League outfielders Sarah Tannenbaum and Sarah Sharp will cover the outfield.  You will also find returning outfielder Allison Blum in the mix, as well as pinch hitter Brianna Parker.  Look for some new faces with senior Gabbie Soriano - a talented and versatile infielder, as well as freshmen Ellie Kelcy and Bela Soriano who offer speed and aggressiveness to the offensive part of the line-up.  This group of girls has worked very hard in the off-season, and is looking for that effort to translate into a winning season this year.  They will get their first test with a non-league game against Germantown Academy for their home opener on Tuesday, March 29.”
