Key Losses: Destini Paige, Andrea Mazurek and Halle Segal
Key Returnees: Julianne Griffin, Michela Coleman, Macey Segal, Sara Genell, Zoe Trumbore, and Siani Paige-Miller.
Others to watch: Ashley Radell (Freshman), Tasi Bode, Eryn Downey,
Strengths: Hopefully our hitting. We’re older this year and a couple of our key players had off years. Looking for rebound years for several players.
Question marks: Possibly pitching due to loss of experience. Losing Halle Segal (injured in car accident) pushes Sara Genell into the Number 1 spot a year earlier. We were hoping to have two pitchers with Varsity experience this year. Stephanie Braun and Jules Griffin will back Sara up.
Outlook: “We are hoping to have a pretty good year. Now that we are a little bit older hopefully we learned from last year’s mistakes (seven times last year we gave up leads of three runs or more). Jules, Coleman, Macey and Siani could have breakout years. Junior Pitcher Sara Genell has improved tremendously as a pitcher since her Freshman year. We also have some more hitting depth with the addition of Ashley and Tasi. Hopefully they will balance the lineup and take some of the pressure off some of our other hitters. Hannah Genell, Jaclyn McLaughlin, Emily Welsh and Eryn Downey all have Varsity experience as outfielders and have made it difficult to choose who plays. This is a great group of players whom the coaches really enjoy coaching. We hope they have a fun year.”
