The Hatters lost a SOL American Conference game by a score of 6-4 at Springfield on Thursday afternoon.

The Hatters gave up four runs in the first inning and despite battling until the end, they couldn’t come up with the big hit when needed. They left the bases loaded in the 3 rd inning, left a man on second in the 4 th inning, and left men on 1 st and 2 nd in the 7 th inning.

Jimmy Tooley, Anthony Bruno and Lucas Walker all collected 2 hits a piece, while Ryley Robinson had a double.

Benny Wilson took the loss for the Hatters allowing 5 runs, 3 earned, 7 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 6 in 4 1/3 innings pitched. Tooley came on in relief and allowed 1 run in 1 2/3 innings pitched.

The loss dropped the Hats to 8-3 and into second place in the SOL American Conference.
