Bensalem girls lost another close hard fought game to William Tennent 37-28. Bensalem has played excellent defensive basketball three or the last four games they have played, the problem is scoring. They have managed to limit their turnovers against pressure , but the shooting percentage is below 40 percent from the field and shooting below 50 percent from the foul line. I have a great group of players who are coming to practice and are working hard each practice to correct the problems on offense. I am very proud of their hard work as a team , they attend practice everyday with a positive attitude. It will just be a matter of time before we put everything together.

William Tennent Comments

Tennent got a much needed win as they beat Bensalem 38-26. It was by no means pretty, but a win nonetheless. The Panthers struggled the first half to make outside shots, but managed to take a 17-14 lead at halftime. Their shooting struggles continued in the second half, but they continued to find a way to get it done. "This was our sixth game in 12 days, with four of those games as back to backs, so fatigue definitely played a factor. We had tired legs and weren't able to get any lift on our shots, which resulted in shooting 7-21 from the line and going 1-7 from the three point line. As a team we only made 3 shots from outside the lane. Fortunately, we had good ball movement against their zone and made some great cuts off the ball for lay-ups. It's tough at this point in the season when girls are playing banged up, and we head into our third straight week of 3 games. It's a grueling season, especially when every night it's a tough game, but we have to continue to grind it out and stay mentally tough." Haley Crossley led the Panthers with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals; Brianna Broccardi had 12 points and 6 rebounds; and Emma Stanfield added 7 points and 5 steals.
