We won 68-47! This was a big win for us. Complete team effort and we showed what we could do when we play together. LM is at the top of our league for a reason and we had to play smart tonight. After a rough shooting night against New Hope, Paige Powell came out focused and lead us with 25. She also added 7 steals. The play of our post players, especially down the stretch was huge. Ijeoma a had her biggest game of the year with 18 points, 10 boards and 4 blocks. While Cassie added 13 and 10 boards. Proud of our performance and now we turn our focus to WT Tuesday.

If you would have told me before the game that we would hold Maya Simmons and Jiah Price to a combined 13 points, I would have bet my house that we would have been the team that would win by 21 points.

After the game I was talking with one of my coaches and we were discussing what we could have done differently to change the outcome of the game and we both came to the same conclusion, nothing. Our free throw percentage was 25% (4/12) and that was better than our field goal percentage. We had 7 3's, but even that was deceiving as 4 of them banked in. When you couple that with the fact that we also played our most fundamentally poor defense that we've played all year and the fact that Cheltenham, out-played, out-hustled and out-coached us, you get a 21 point loss.

At half time, it was the first time all year that I had to really get after the girls and we we from 11 down to 4 down within 2 minutes, but our defensive mistakes never let us able to get closer than that.

It was a frustrating game to say the least. We had them scouted and were able to limit Price and Simmons, but Paige Powell was excellent and we did not adjust. I don't know if it was her career high, but she had 25 and couldn't miss. In addition to Powell, we also let Ojukwo score 18 and Bugg came off the bench to score 10.

This was the first game all year where I feel like we beat ourselves. I think that the girls let their struggles on offense impact what we did on defense and if we're going to be the type of team that I know we can be, we will have to learn how to play through these types of games.
