This was definitely a character win. It wasn't pretty, but we were able to hang on and walk out of Marple Newtown with the W. After starting 1 - 3, we've won 8 of 9 and our average margin of victory during that span has been by about 18 points, so it was good for us to win a close game against a very gritty opponent.

As a coach, you know your team and with us net being able to get on the court since Thursday to play or practice and the girls having midterms and being on a different schedule, I was really worried about how we'd play tonight. On offense we were not as crisp as we've been and defensively we had a few mistakes, but I was proud of how our girls competed. We went into the half up by 6 and early in the 3rd quarter we extended the lead to 14 points, but from that moment on, Marple Newtown went on a little run and late in the 3rd they scored to cut the lead to 2 points, but then Briana answered back with a 3 to make it 5 points to start the 4th quarter.
In the 4th it was back and forth and with about 1:45 left we were up late and in spite of some poor decisions on our end, we ended up winning by 5.

It was good to be in this type of a game and be able to pull out the win.

On a night where we were out of sync, we were still about to get 3 girls in double digits and both Briana and Sydney made some adjustments on defense and played extremely tough in the post against girls that were bigger then them. I don't know how many rebounds Sydney had, but it was easily in double digits.
