William Tennent Comments

It was a tale of two half's as Tennent falls 44-51 to Pennridge in a tough conference game. Both teams exchanged baskets early as the Rams took a 9-8 lead after one. Hot shooting by the Rams in the second, along with too many turnovers by the Panthers; gave Pennridge a 24-16 halftime lead. The second half Pennridge picked up where the left off and extended their lead to 11 before Tennent answered with an 11-6 run to end the third quarter and found themselves down 30-36 heading into the fourth. Tennent carried the momentum into the fourth as they went on another 10-7 run to put them down 40-43 with a little over a minute left in the game. The Rams answered though with a 3 on the next possession to extend the lead back to 6. With under a minute left, Tennent was forced to foul and Pennridge sealed the game from the line. "It's definitely a tough loss, said Coach Whitney. The first half killed us with awful turnovers and rushed shots. Despite having 13 of our 18 turnovers in the first half we managed to still be in it and not let it get too out of hand. I'm really proud of how hard they played and the fight they showed. It would have been really easy to give up, but we just never quit and showed a lot of character. Unfortunately, I think we used up so much energy to come back that we couldn't get over the hump." Emma Stanfield led the way for the Panthers with 18, Haley Crossley had 16, and Bryn Evans chipped in with 10.
