Sophomore mid-fielder Carly Hughes had a great game, making many key plays to help stop Plymouth Whitemarsh’s offensive flow and providing great defense on the field. Senior forward, Kayla Kretschman also stepped up in the 4th quarter to prevent any further offensive threats from Plymouth Whitemarsh to make it to the goal.

Abington fell short today in a tough game against a talented Plymouth Whitemarsh team. A few defensive lapses allowed Plymouth Whitemarsh to stay in the game and walk away with the win.

PW earned its first win of the season in a back and forth contest. Abington scored first due to miscommunication in the defensive circle. PW’s Emily Dobrowolski scored PW’s first goal of the game after rebounding a shot off the Abington keeper in the second quarter. Abington would score again, but PW would tie the game heading into halftime when Gracie Kern finished on a corner play with no time left on the clock. Quarter three saw competitive action and lots of offensive corners for PW, but no additional score. PW earned a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter and Maddie Carr converted to take the 3-2 lead.
