Another great showing from this Bensalem Owls team. Our last two weeks have been filled with so much energy and focus. Today was a total, and I mean total, team win today. I was able to get contributions today from every player in the Bensalem program. It also showed us what we have in some of our younger players that don't get much time on varsity. They are able to step up and rise to the challenge. The next few years look promising. And that's what we're trying to do here, establish a culture that will sustain for years to come. Baby steps, that's what we've been saying all year.
The St. Huberts team was a very solid team, and completely took us out of any energy that we tried to start with. After a very emotional game the night before, St. Huberts was able to hold down the energy we wanted to bring but didn't. It wasn't until 6:40 left in the second period that we finally got on the board with an unassisted goal from Giuliana Pasquerella. That goal brought back some of the life that we we're looking for. Six minutes later Megan Klein scored the first of her two goals with an assist from Kaila DeWees. That goal took us to halftime with a 2-0 lead. Megan scored her second six minutes and ten seconds into the third period unassisted. And some of our younger players contributed to the final goal of the day when Maddie Kennedy took the ball down the right sideline, dribbled all the way to baseline, was able to cross the ball through the goalmouth to a finishing score from Ava Hood. It was a great way to end our week and get ready for homecoming and to our final week of the season.
