Central Bucks West Comments

Tonight CB West defeated North Penn in a thriller that had to be decided in overtime. West got the scoring started when Liv Fitzgerald connected in the first half 13:00 on a corner. Up to the point it had been a back and forth battle with no team able to dominate in their offensive end. Immediately after that goal at 11:56 left in the half Bri O'Donnell scored off the corner from the baseline to tie it up 1-1. North Penn started to dominate the offensive play at that point as West was unable to sustain their offense for any serious threats. At 7:18 Mikayla Barrow scored to put North Penn on top 2-1. They carried that score into halftime. The second half began much more balanced with West being able to create some offensive momentum. NP called a timeout with 19:08 left in the half and West made some adjustments that helped them start to stifle the balls coming out of the defensive backfield. It made a difference as West started putting some offensive sequences together. With 9:56 to go Taylor Mason was able to find Dani Dundas in the circle, and Dundas scored to even it up at 2-2. That scored held through the remainder of regulation with each team having some opportunities towards the end of regulation to get the game winner. Both defenses held tough and it was on to overtime. West won the toss and earned possession of the ball in overtime. They moved the ball from the left then back to the right where Dundas was able to take it into the circle and rocket a ball across the middle. It may have gotten deflected up a bit off a defender's stick, but Taylor Mason plucked it out of the air and deflected it right into the upper right net of the goal. (14:06).

Dani Dundas and Taylor Mason led West offensively for the game. Casey Reichwein was a brick wall in the middle of the field stopping many North Penn offensive transitions. Caitlin Mulligan was able to provide pressure in the second half that started to make the difference for West. Peyton Fischer played well in goal making 7 saves in the win.
