This was our Pink Game organized by Kaity Walton. This was inspired by a teammate who lost their mom to breast cancer in 8th grade. The team rose to the occasion giving their absolute best effort. We had a strategic game plan to not chase the transfer ball and keep the play in front. Our forwards tackled back allowing our mids and backs to get in position. There were no fast breaks by Wissahickon, we played it perfectly. The mids and defense inside the 25-yard were spectacular. They played flawlessly! They were honestly a well-oiled machine today. The defensive corner unit was outstanding. They defended 20 PC and turned them all away. With 1:10 left in the first quarter, we picked off a pass, and then Natalie Rittler was away....eliminating defenders and then the poise to dribble around the slide tackling GK of Wissahickon. In the second quarter, we had a nice offensive flurry, and with 12:55 remaining Gabi Maletta converted on a PC from Emma Yoder. Spr. GK Grace Bell had a game today with 8 saves. The defensive corner unit of Emma Yoder, Gracie Buchholtz, Paige Pizzica, Charlotte Drapkin, and Iona Stum. *You don't need to add this but it kept things interesting, Emma Yoder is a huge presence. (Emma Yoder was out serving a green card and we had to reorganize the corner unit....that was fun)
