Pennsbury Comments
From her spot glued to the far post, Bev Bozarth could see all the action on the other side of the Upper Dublin goal, and beyond that the scoreboard, which showed a "1" under each team and only a few seconds until the game headed to overtime.

Twice, Bozarth's teammate Maddie Hackman took a shot from in close. Twice, Upper Dublin goalie Sarah Herchenroder turned them away. That's when Bozarth went from observer to the main player, as the ball found her and she made the most of it.

Bozarth lifted one just inside the post with 30.2 seconds remaining, giving Pennsbury a 2-1 win over Upper Dublin Wednesday afternoon in the final game of the best regular season in program history. The Falcons, who had already wrapped up the first perfect Suburban One National Conference record in school history, improved to 15-3 overall, with the 15 wins the most the Falcons have ever had.

Pennsbury will now await the District 1 seeding meeting, which will be held Thursday night.

"We've had a great regular season," said Pennsbury coach Jamie Parell. "And now we're looking forward to finding out what the next challenge will be. We need to be ready for whatever happens, and we need to come out at our most intense for the playoffs. But we're definitely excited about it."

Olivia Mauro scored the first goal of the day 17 minutes in when she knocked home a rebound, but UD tied it on a goal by Ryann Kullmann with 5:10 left before intermission, assisted by Emma Mead off a penalty corner.

Pennsbury outshot Upper Dublin 27-6, but Cardinal goalies Herchenroder and Megan Muth (who played the first half) combined for 12 saves. Herchenroder was challenged often, and she made nine saves - many of them on shots that seemed to be heading in - before Bozarth finally snuck one by her.

Michelle Deodati made three saves for Pennsbury.

Upper Dublin is now 10-7 overall.
