Upper Moreland Comments
Abington started the game strong and used their connecting passing to score halfway through the first quarter. Then with a minute left in the half, Upper Moreland was pressuring inside their attacking circle, and Abington got a quick breakaway with all the Bears up and was able to score a breakaway goal to make it 2 - 0.
Upper Moreland then raised their level of play in the second half and played pretty evenly with Abington for the rest of the game, but could not put it in the net. Speedy Ella Gould had a strong game along with Maggie Morrow on the left side continually getting breakaways and stopping Abington's attack. Morrow played well on the attack, but also was able to block up the left side to not allow Abington to get the ball up to develop their attack. Ava Bailey controlled the forward line, while Kelly Bates was the anchor of the Bear defense once again back in the circle.
The very athletic Bear's goalie Addi Hurley had a stellar game with 17 saves. Cambrie Richmond also had a great game at center mid.

It was a great team win today for us, after a few tough games. The girls are finally starting to gel as a team and in their respective positions. I’m very proud of how everyone played, and stepped up, to record a nice team win.
